Rev. EJ Lowery, Pastor/Pres. of Abundant Life Temple Church and Ministerial Association, and his son Greg Lowery were appointed to the Board of Elders at the T.L. Lowery Global Foundation based in Cleveland Tn. on March 27-29, 2008.
The purpose of the Foundation is to encourage the perpetuation of Christian ministry in the spirit and example of Dr. T.L. Lowery. His ministry has been marked by a passion for evangelism, a desire to meet the needs of people, a strong dependence upon the power of the Holy Spirit and a literal understanding of the fivefold ministry model of Ephesians 4:11-16.
The Foundation will sponsor activities promoting the theology of ministry of its namesake. These events will include, but not be limited to: periodic evangelistic crusade events in the United States and in other countries; gatherings of the "sons and daughters" of T.L. Lowery for services of inspiration, impartation, laying on of hands and anointing; development of printed materials; and seminars and training events designed to share teachings about the fivefold ministry and related Biblical truths.
The ministry of Dr. T.L. Lowery during a 60-year career has been marked by three divine assignments. As an Evangelist, he criss-crossed the nation with a tent that held 10,000 worshipers plus ministered in 115 countries around the world. He has been a pastor of two great churches: North Cleveland Church of God, the flagship church of The Church of God denomination and one of the oldest continually-existing Pentecostal churches in the world, and National Church of God, that serves our nation's Capital.
As a denominational executive, Dr. Lowery has brought dimensions of faith and vision to his leadership posts. Serving 16 years on the Executive Committee, the five-man group of top leaders of the Church of God, and 34 years on the Executive Council, its highest elected governing body.
